Biei is a town full of delicious food. Whenever you visit, there's all kinds of seasonal goodies to try. We'll take a walk up Biei's high street to sample just a few of the delicious specialities on offer.

Biei is a land of plentiful food. From fresh seasonal vegetables to local meats and tofu, there's no shortage of yummy things to enjoy. Unlike the town's famed scenery, its food culture is accessible year-round so this tour runs any time of the year!
We'll meet at JR Biei Station at 2pm and we'll then hit up Biei's high street. The shops that we will go to and the food we'll be able to enjoy will vary depending on the season, the day of the week and your personal preferences (or food allergies if you have them). We'll enjoy three different food items as well as one drink of your choice. Dohoku Local favourites include Biei's delicious ice cream made with a blend of three cows' milk, sausages made with Biei pork, fresh-caught sashimi, tasty warabimochi with sweet Biei bean powder and even soba noodles from a retro soba noodle vending machine!
After eating our fill, we'll hit up a local souvenir shop where your Dohoku Local will give you the scoop on Biei's tastiest souvenirs to take home for friends and family (purchases are of course optional).
We won't be eating a great amount on this tour but you will need space enough to enjoy a few local delicacies, so if you have lunch beforehand be sure to eat a little lighter than usual!

This tour cannot be tailored for vegans or those with gluten-free requirements. We apologise for the inconvenience. However, we can tailor this tour to suit vegetarians able to have traces of fish or religious dietary requirements (e.g. no pork, no shellfish etc)

We know, it's boring.
But if you'd like to join an experience, there are some particulars.
We appreciate your taking the time to read this before booking!
1. There is no minimum age for this tour and children are welcome to participate. Children who are too young to eat food by themselves or solid foods can take part for free. 2. While the places we can go will be decided in advance by your Dohoku Local, you can, if you wish, opt for a different item on the menu if you wish (provided it is within budget)! 3. This tour includes light meals and snacks only. A full meal is not provided. Please eat before or after the tour. 4. Bookings are accepted a minimum of 3 days in advance. For bookings within 3 days, please reach out to us via our contact form. 5. Please let us know if you have any health or mobility issues that may affect you on this experience, including food allergies. 6. Aggressive or threatening behaviour towards your Dohoku Local or Biei townspeople will not be tolerated. 7. The participant accepts that they bear responsibility for any accident or injury, except for those caused by negligence or poor behaviour on the part of their Dohoku Local. 8. We reserve the right to cancel the reservation on the spot with no refund given if any of the T&C are breached. 9. Cancellation Policy: Full refund if cancelled by you, the participant, more than 24 hours before the experience. 100% cancellation fee if cancelled within 24 hours of the experience. Unfortunately we do not accept illness or injury as mitigating circumstances. If we have to cancel the experience due to unforeseen circumstances on Dohoku Local's end, a full refund will be given.
